I won't be posting answers to all comments here, just the ones (that are not private and) I think may be helpful for others. Thank you SO MUCH for the sweet comments. They really make my day! I love to read them.   |
| What role did nutrition play in your hair growth? Posted: 10/02/08 For lots of people nutrition is a big part of hair growth. They research supplements and take vitamins daily. I have read about women who take several pills daily and thank it for their fast growing, thick, shiny hair. Not me. Simply put, I do nothing nutritionally for my hair. I'm sure vitamins are good for hair growth and strength, not to mention overall health, but I don't like swallowing pills :). I eat what I like and my hair grows on its own which is good enough for me. Certainly there are benefits to taking vitamins and supplements but I'm not the best person to ask about how much/which ones. No doubt I should look into taking at least a multivitamin for my health, thanks for reminding me of that.

| How to get a Healthy Gloss / Shiny Hair Posted: 08/11/08 It is part flash photography and part hair care. The camera flash does wonders for making hair look shiny. I've heard that honey adds shine. Yes, the same honey you can eat. When showering, in the final rinse pour some honey into your hand and then spread it down your length. You can rinse it out or not, I do it either way. The honey will not make your hair sticky, so don't worry about that. Sometimes instead I add an equal amount of honey to my conditioner and mix it together in my hand before spreading on my hair. Using a tiny bit (just a couple drops) of oil as a leave-in on wet hair, or just on dry hair can add shine too. Brushing dry hair (after detangling with a comb) with a soft boar bristle brush will maximize shine as well.
Mostly, I think shine comes naturally when your hair is healthy, without needing to do anything extra. Of course, having straight hair helps because it reflects light better than waves or curls.

I have bought monoi oil from a couple different websites online (depending on who has the cheapest prices at the time).
