Conditioner (Cone)
in the yellow tub w/ green lid available at Sally's Beauty Supply. This product is so thick and rich that it will make the shower floor slippery, so be careful when using it! I use it as a regular conditioner, a leave-in, deep conditioner (with heat cap for 30 minutes), and a spot detangler (on tangly nape hairs especially).

Conditioner (No Cone / Cone Free)
- Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose --Very rich and heavy for a cone-free conditioner.
- Kiss My Face Whenever in the green bottle. Smells like key lime pie.
- Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm --comes in a white tub with green leaf print.

Shampoo
- Kenra Moisturizing shampoo --Here's why it is special:
(Quote from Kenra's website) About Kenra Shampoos: Almost all shampoos use the same surfactant: Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This substance has a problem: it's made up of molecules small enough to penetrate the hair shaft, depleting its moisture and damaging its internal structure. Kenra uses Sodium Myreth Sulfate. It's made up of larger molecules - too large to permeate a hair shaft. This enables Kenra Shampoos to clean as well as the alternatives, without their drying drawbacks. The result: an effective cleanser that is still gentle and mild on hair and skin.
- Monoi Vanilla shampoo --contains sodium laureth sulfate (more gentle than s*lauryl*s) and smells divine.

Leave-in
- Honey --Yes, the same honey you eat.
- Or a dab of the conditioner I used to wash.
|
|   |
Deep Conditioner
- L'Oreal Mega Moisture (click here for details)
- Queen Helene Cholesterol --protein conditioner, found at grocery stores. I only do a protein treatment about once a month and it must be followed by a moisturizing treatment, else it results in crunchy brillo pad hair.

Holding Gel / Hairspray Replacement
- Aloe Vera Gel Fruit of the Earth brand in clear bottle --available at Walmart and the like, found in skin care section (it's marketed in the summer as a sun burn ointment)
|

Oil
- Monoi Vanilla --Monoi oil is scented coconut oil which comes in several fragrances, vanilla being my favorite.
- Jojoba --This oil closely mimics the sebum produced by your scalp, making it the most effective.

Combs
- Bone comb (not actually bone, but a bakelite clay material) --Hairsense on ebay
- Creative 8L and 5 --Plastic seamless combs available at Tenderheaded.com

Types of Hairtoys
- dymondwood --waterproof and super glassy smooth. Comes in a variety of colors from subtle single shades to brilliant striped patterns.
- Satin fabric scrunchies
- Good Days Hair Pins --Insert with the curve opposite your head so the tips point away and won't dig into your scalp. By Good Days NOT Scunci brand --Tenderheaded.com, ulta.com

Tools
- Mastex Heat Cap --Can get very hot (be careful not to burn your ears). The fit isn't great on me so I like to roll up two washcloths and tuck them in forehead-to-ear area to catch drips.
- Microwave Heat Cap --Not as hot as the electric type but you aren't confined to an area by an extension cord and the fabric of the cap helps catch drips.
- Vinyl Shower Cap --Good to put wet hair in while letting conditioner soak.
- Mesh Sleep Cap
- Satin pillowcase
- 4 tier shower extension pole caddy (see Bathroom Hair Stuff Collection) --Linens 'N Things, Walmart --get the plastic one, shelves on the metal variety tilt forward and bottles slide then flip off the front which is very annoying.
- Turbie Twist hair towel (see Hair Towel How-To) --found at Linens 'N Things (As Seen on TV) and similar stores.
